    Product Introduction

    Fire assay clay crucibles is mainly used for melting of metals such as gold, silver, iron, copper and other metals, fire testing experiments, precious metal analysis, mining laboratory, laboratory testing, mineral analysis, etc., which are an important part of chemical instruments. Metal liquid and containers with heating and reaction of solid fluid are the basis for ensuring the smooth progress of chemical reactions.

    As cooled lead sample is then separated from the glass waste (slag) with a hammer, and placed in a porous bone ash (MgO) crucible, ready for the cupellation step.


    The sample is then placed in a muffle furnace at around 1000°C. The lead oxidises with the aid of the inflowing air from the furnace muffle and then immediately melts and is absorbed into the crucible, leaving behind what is known as a precious metal prill.


    The prill is then analysed for its precious metal content through dissolving it in aqua regia (a mixture of hydrochloric and nitric acid) and the concentrations determined by spectroscopic methods (AAS, ICPAES, ICPMS).


    Eventual detection limits are in the region of parts per billion but accuracy is usually in the region of 3 -5% for this metallurgical analytical technique.

    Applications method:

    Crucible covers are usually placed at an Angle over the crucible in use to prevent the heat from jumping out and to allow free passage of air for possible oxidation reactions. Crucible because of its small bottom, generally need to stand on the mud triangle to be heated directly by fire. Crucible on the iron Triangulum with a straight or oblique can be placed, according to the needs of the experiment can be placed by itself. The crucible should not be placed on a cold metal table immediately after heating, so as to prevent it from cracking due to rapid cooling. Do not immediately put on wooden tabletop, in order to avoid burning the tabletop or cause a fire. The correct method is to leave it on the iron triangulate frame to cool naturally, or put it on the asbestos net to cool slowly. Use
